No, not that Chrono-armor instagib overpowered adminbus character. This is actually referrying to a new concept evolving around a secondary Antagonist who is, lore-wise, sent back in time from Space Station 18 in order to change the past.

The Time Traveller is effectively a copy of a crew member already on the station, albeit a future version. His objectives are as following:
    1. Obey the Supreme Temporal Directive: Minimize interaction with any individuals of the past, except those involved in your mission and make sure noone realizes the existence of a time traveller. [RP-Objective, default to success]
    2. Ensure your past self leaves the station alive and is not aware of your existence, to prevent a paradox. [success when past self survives, can be set to fail by admin regardless]
    3. Your mission is to protect [crew member] from being killed. [obvious]

The crew member in question is always the target of some sort of antag. It could be a head during a rev round, a traitor-assasination, the sacrifice-target of a cult, etc
And, for funsies, that crew member can indeed be your past self.

The big challenge is that the Time Traveller doesnt have many tools to actually accomplish his goals. He merely has an Agent Card, pre-setup to his name and the access his 'past self' had (plus maint), and a 'Time Warp Implant'.

The implant, once activated, pops up a menu, similar to the Wizards Teleport Spell. However, the difference is that, after the destination is chosen, the Time Traveller simply 'phases out' in a small EMP wave, and then auto-follows his past self in a phased (invisible, uninteractable, effectively ghost) state (aka, remembering memories of the past). After 1 minute has passed, he can then use an action to actually 'phase in' at the target destination again. He can stay phased out for up to 3 minutes, after which he is automatically phased-in.
After phasing back in, the implant goes on a 5 minute cooldown.

Effectively, his gameplay revolves around acting unsuspicious, without being noticed by his former self, whilst trying to save someone from dieing, whilst KNOWING (future!) that something 'killed him' (aka, is trying to kill him).
And that all without fancy abiltiies, except for an Agent card which prevents AI from noticing the double and potentially gives him an easy way to gain more accesses to dispose of the assassins (after all, he is still an antag).

Wow, that is some Phillip K Dick shit right up in there. Congrats. I fully support this, also doesn't seem very hard to code.

Quick question, you mentioned your past self can be your protect target. Does this mean if your past self is the cult target, you can be sacrificed by the cult for their objectives?

i like where this is going. Seems like a mix of looper and prince of persia. Maybe make him a criminal/kos/non human in spacelaww so he has a reason to stay undetected?

This sounds like a lot of fun. As a time traveller though, I feel like he should have some technology. As for some other objectives, maybe he can be sent to plant certain items in certain locations? i.e, replace the nuke disk of the captain with a different one you start with (so the codes change), and send the real nuke disk back to your time with some tool.
This has lots of potential! I hope to see it in-game one day.

This could actually lead to a really cool dynamic - as a time traveller, pretend to be your target and get yourself killed by the traitor in question, so your target is overlooked by the traitor who thinks they have finished their objective.
